This is a course project I made for an online motion design training program - Animation Bootcamp from School of Motion. The goal of this project is to make an one minute video that communicates the philosophy of "Learning the craft, not just tools." The script, voice-over, and art direction were provided by School of Motion, and I completed the design and animation.

The Process
I believe that planning is always important in the process of motion design. Although the script has been given, I think it is still necessary to break it down and plan the whole animation accordingly. I use a mind map to reconstruct the argument and explore the style and overall art direction.  Through this process, I set up a bright, sharing mood for the overall design.
This piece of sketch is my final decision from multiple iterations of the art. I chose to build round, vector based main characters, along with some arts in realistic style.
By redrawing the storyboard from scratch, I designed every movement of objects and each transition between scenes.
